Animation Filmmaker & Artistic Researcher & Illustrator
Tornadox Thái (Quang Trí Thái) is a Vietnamese animation filmmaker and artitstic researcher from Nha Trang, Vietnam. He graduated in 2D Animation from FPT University and holds a Master’s degree in Audiovisual Arts – Animation Film from LUCA School of Arts in Belgium.
His work explores the intersections of memory, place, environmental change, and personal experience through animation, documentary materials, and essay film practices. Drawing inspiration from lived experiences, field research, and collective memory, his films often examine how landscapes retain traces of the past and how communities continue to live with the aftermath of historical events.
For Tornadox Thái, filmmaking often begins long before animation. Through writing, field research, and journeys to the places connected to his stories, he gathers observations, memories, and encounters that gradually shape the visual and narrative direction of his films.
